Barney Frank

Wow.  The 1040 long form is some really advanced stuff.  I'm sure "even looking at it" is one of the many successes for which you can credit yourself - along with understanding why capital gains taxes have a lower rate than income taxes, how corporate taxes work, the Laffer Curve, and the treachery of the EITC.

It would be so awesome to go around Wall St right now and find out how many of those stupid protesters even heard of any one of those things!!!!  Especially compared to your 53% brethren who've been posting.  There was a guy talking about digging ditches out of concrete... he might've taken a look at the Laffer Curve.   Oh and there was this 18 year old college girl who was babysitting for some cash... she might be able to talk derivatives over a beer with you sometime.

And it's all because of how much money is taken from you.  If only you were part of that 1%.  The bummer would be that EVEN MORE money would be taken from you, but you'd still have so much.  I guess that's one of those failures for which you can blame yourself.

And to think... 20 years from now people are going to look back in the history books and say, "How come Barney Frank wasn't behind bars all this time?"  Some people just can't see the truth until it's too late.

You tell 'em brother.  Stay strong.

Smells Like Teen Spirit

Well thank goodness for the deoderant because if you ever DID end up shoveling that manure you just might need it.  (LOL)

I've had it with America's shitty schools.  Can you believe those teachers asking for a raise?  And those protesters want MORE of MY hard earned tax money?  Are you KIDDING?

Damn right I worked my ass off to pay for college!  No handouts here.  Those lazy bums in the park will be paying for their college degrees for 25 years.

No Tattoos!!

Taken

OMG "taken?" that is SO INSANE?! What are they DOING with that money? It goes to those people in the park so they can complain? OMG your poor dad. So did you study for that bio test the other night? Me neither I went to the party too. Sooo... what percent of your tutoring & babysitting income are you paying in taxes Ms. legal adult? Oh yeah, you have to report that.
My dad has a chainsaw.

4000 Square Foot House, 3 Vehicles, 2 Snowmobiles, A Camper, and a Boat

Honey I wrote a note to the 53% yesterday, if you didn’t see it you can read it here: ON FACEBOOK , but after seeing your post, I simply had to write another one.

Well now aren’t you just DARLING.

My dear, you simply embody what we in the 1% just adore about the 53%. We agree with you… you all in the middle class don’t need college. Leave that to us and go right into the work force. After all it’s just too expensive, isn’t it. Go ahead and get right into the work force and start sweating for what you want. That’s why we’re here to give you a job… and you should be grateful that we’re here to give you one. If you can’t get me on my cell it just means there’s no reception on the yacht. The Mediterranean can be tricky like that. Friday we’ll get to the Ritz so you can call the hotel. Yes we’ll be in the penthouse as usual so just talk to Monte at the concierge as usual. Julia are you taking all of this down? No not all the travel stuff. Oh god okay no let’s go back to the letter now.

Sweetheart, I’m a little concerned about the snowmobiles – are you sure you don’t want to purchase some health insurance? Those things can be dangerous. My husband happens to be the CEO of one of the best providers and can send you over some info on a great package. Last year I fell on the ice at Christmas in the Alps and you WOULD NOT BELIEVE the amount of plastic surgery I had to go through to get my nose back. Not that it would be covered under insurance anyway but my point is that surgery is very expensive.

I do think it’s fabulous that you’re paying your taxes every single year – good for you. Tax fraud can be a sticky one to get out of depending on your attorney. We’ve always gotten out of it but some of our friends have not been so lucky.

I was shocked to hear that 47% of society is living off our taxes! I mean who reads the paper any more these days but that number is just SKY HIGH. You just keep on sticking it to those leeches sitting in the park, because what they’re saying is that they want to take everything you’ve worked for away from you and leave you with nothing.

That means the SNOWMOBILES AND THE CAMPER, sweetheart.

And maybe - one day - if you keep working really, really, really hard, you’ll be as rich as us

Just keep trying, sweetheart!

Congratulations on your snowmobile.

The 1%

Integrity & Self Respect

Let's see... you were on welfare but never took a handout. You're not a slave to the system, but you're busting your arse putting yourself through college and are working long hours to do so. The 99% have produced nothing except a worldwide movement, one small result of which is the reactionary blogsite to which you are uploading your picture. Great job with all that integrity and self respect, dude!

My Wife is Returned

mmmmmmm'kayyyyy. awesome.

ummm. i'd just say if you love your wife, i wouldn't return her, i'd keep her.

i didn't know you had to go through a conversion process for that.

that reminds me of that Bette Midler song, "God is watching us, god is watching us... from a distance."

Yeah, me too about the basic goodness of people thing.

When you say you support the military... do you mean like, financially or... ?

I love my family too.

Oh... wait, is this all the 53% meant? I think it might be more than 53% in that case. There might be a misunderstanding somewhere...

Average Joe

Well Ben, when you're just an average joe and can't pay for college, you shouldn't go. You made the right decision. You don't deserve higher education unless your parents can pay for it or you can win some cash! That stuff costs serious bank. It's not for everyone.

It's so nice of those doctors to take care of your ulcers even though you don't have insurance! And that's your ONLY debt? Thank god it wasn't cancer, right? HA! ;) Hope you can pay them off in just a few years.

Smart thinkin not having a baby. Incidentally how did you find out how not to do that? Anyway if you can't afford to have kids you do NOT DESERVE TO HAVE THEM. Good goin. Hope you guys never get a hankerin to have a baby unless you get some more cash flow. And here's hopin your wife never gets raped! ;)

Glad those 12-16 hour days are only a couple a week. Hope it keeps up that way. And as for that first vacation in a decade - CONGRATS! Jeez can you believe those backwards Europeans? I mean What the HELL are you thinking vacationing a MANDATORY 4 WEEKS A YEAR? It's BAFFLES ME that they've been around THOUSANDS of YEARS compared to Americas couple hundred, RIGHT? And Congress works so hard... and Wall Street... I mean they should go ahead and do what they gotta do, but... ya know, average joes like us... we are "better off then we deserve."

Saving Lives

You didn't go to high school but now you're in medical school? Wow. Your writing skills kinda don't sound, well... doctorial. Ohh... sorry you "got yourself into college." Oh wow. And I see you didn't take a loan or a handout. You - wow - you worked full time AND took full time classes. Damn that's kind of uh... did you sleep? Did you have a time-turner? (sorry that's a Harry Potter thing.) I see you graduated at the top of your class and soon you will be a doctor. What's your specialty? Human Anatomy 5? It's nice to hear that your family will have quality medical care even if Obamacare stands. It's also really cool that you're going to save lives. It must have been hard to get through all that medical school without taking one grant or loan. I mean, so many doctors graduate with so much debt.. that's just really, really rare. You go, girl! Ramen noodles for a month... damn! That's really salty. No... I'm sure no one wants to punish you personally... of course you are an individual. Sometimes writing in your journal can help with those feelings. I am too? Well maybe I should get out my journal and that will help me with fixing my life. Thank you so much for that advice.

Making Money to Bless the Lives of Others (without a Police State)

This Guy's Note Says This:

"I returned to college after failed ventures in 1990 at the age of 26. I worked full time, joined the Naval Reserves, and took out loans to pay for college. I earned my BA in 3 ½ years. I paid my loans off.

I worked for two years after college at a below poverty wage. I worked hard to grow in my expertise. I took a job making more than double my poverty wage. 4 years later I was upper middle class. I have helped make other people rich. I am grateful for the opportunity.

Since 2001 there has always been non-family members living with me in my home. I housed my own family plus a family of with 6 kids. I housed a drug addict. I currently house a single mother and her 2 year old daughter. None of them have ever paid rent. I have been blessed and I want to bless the lives of others without a police state.

I have never owned a new car; I have never lived in a new house; I have never owned a new piece of furniture. I donate monthly to programs for the poor. I pay lots of taxes. I have been married for 25 years. I have 7 kids, 2 are adopted. I am blessed beyond measure.

I am the 53%.

I intend to be the 20%. My dream would be to be so wealthy that they protest my house. Then I will know I made a difference in the lives of many.

Make money. Use it to bless others. Asking the gov’t to do it for you is lazy hypocrisy."

Wow, man, YEAH! Sounds like you are taking all the right steps toward getting TOTALLY RICH REALLY SOON! Also that you would NEVER SUPPORT anything like a social service. Screw those bums looking for a handout.

The Pits

So... where were your investments when everything crashed? Did you own any properties? Thank gawd we'd just gotten rid of our vacation home. Go you making those pits! I love the 53%.

Paving Your Career

Nice nails, dude. So, you're not going to "pave your career" as your loving parents have, huh? I wonder how the rest of the 53% are going to react to that... particularly the guy who wouldn't study liberal arts or women's studies, below. Good luck!

Living the Dream

Well that certainly sounds like the American Dream we all dream of. I can see why you wouldn't want to protest and would want to keep everything exactly the way it is. Enjoy the comforts of the fabulous and secure life you and your disabled wife are living.  And yes, I'm sure your wife's employer laid her off as a result of looking at Obamacare. That's why everyone around the country got laid off, isn't it.

A Phonecall to Sally

"So Sally, yeah... the reason I'm calling is that I think I owe you an apology... yeah... remember that time I accused you of murdering innocents during the war? Well, yeah maybe that wasn't really fair, I mean, IT HAPPENS, RIGHT? I think I was just feeling a little hurt that you were calling me a whiner so I mocked you back. Yeah, I mean that Jesus guy does sound kind of cool. You're right he probably never would have said anything against authority figures. He probably would have just stuck to the grindstone of a carpenter and continued working hard and been 'glad for the chance.' Anyway, looks like you're really running with the right people and that means so much."

ANYTHING?

This 53%-er worked "anything for cash." ANYTHING? Maybe I should call this guy...

Let's Hope He's Single

A humdinger from the 53% - ladies, let's hope this one is single... let's see:  He was in the army, so tough and manlyWent to college and DIDN'T study liberal arts OR women's studies!  (Obviously the people that DO don't pay taxes and expect a handout.)  Stupid women & liberal arts. Damn welfare bums.
 This is the 53%!

CRAZYAPE

I am in LOVE with this one - where to start?  Okay, how bout at the beginning:

MY FIRST JOB WAS A BIKE MESSENGER.
Ummm.  N'kay.

PAID FOR COLLEGE WITH AS FEW LOANS AS POSSIBLE.
Ohhhh Riiiiight.  The rest of us tried to get as many as possible so we could be in debt for as long as possible.  Now we're in the park screaming about that, I guess... uh, yeah.  ?

LIVE WITHIN MY MEANS SO I CAN PAY BILLS.
Good idea!

HAVE NICE THINGS BECAUSE I GET THEM USED.
Ebay is cool.  Can you get food on ebay?  Medical care?

DON'T FEEL ENTITLED TO ANYTHING I DIDN'T EARN.
Feelings are good to talk about.
... and the kicker, y'all:
"I AM CRAZYAPE, THE 53%."

I just don't know what to say.

Kenneth Cole Jacket

http://the53.tumblr.com/
$70K?! $70K!!!! Seriously? You could like, go buy a Kenneth Cole jacket and like, not even bat an eyelash. Maybe I should switch sides.
